well thats the touchpad out unless our friendly neigbourhood pc store etc get more in the coming weeks.

are these really so much better than ocz etc? and whats the best way to 'install' them in a case?

Drives will hopefully land tomorrow a day early so all pre-ords may ship a day early :D

With the new firmware 0009 these are beasts! There were only slightly slower than the vertex 3, now with a 20% performance boost they could well end up quicker and without any of the horror stories surrounding sandforce to put you off!

May have to pick up a 256gb whilst the price lasts :)
 
gave in an ordered the 128gb, so are you saying the price will go up? thought gibbo said these where the prices from now on.

also ordered the asrock extreme7, now just need a cpu and ram(wish the kingston offer was now or the mb pre-order was over the weekend).

I've opted for delivery next tuesday so the early than expected arrival of the ssd doesn't effect me.

Are these still due in today? I ordered one last Friday and just got a mail saying it's been backordered due to stock shortages. Hoping to be able to put the new PC together over the weekend.

the drives have landed today so everyone sat in the pre-order queue will have their drives shipped :)

Price is remaining at these levels and will continue to do so making them an absolute bargain with the new firmware performance increases :D

so what did you mean by the comment in your previous post about having to get a 256gb while the price lasts?

hope the £140 is worth it for the 128gb, would have like bigger capacity but price is too high for me.

Sales on these drives have gone ballistic, not surprising though, now one of the best if not the best real world performing SSD's and at a price point lower than any other. :)
 
Not sure they really do beat the sandforce drives but I've heard in real world usage there's really nothing to differentiate them. I'd take these over the sandforce any day though for the reliability. Anand still recommend intels for reliability but their recent record is nothing like what they achieved with the G2 so I'm staying away!

I've been holding out a while but I think this might be it. It's near as dammit £1/Gb on the 128
 
ok so I got it on tuesday and have to say its much smaller then I imagined, not going to be ble to use it until I decide on the ram for my new system and get it built :)
 
Any further movement? Can get a 64GB one from somewhere else for less than £64 and a 128 one for less than £120. Not the Crucial ones though but still SATA3. Shame my monetary situation has hit the skids.

Thats a bit of a daft statement mate. Its like going to Audi and saying I can get a kia with a x feature for six grand less. Can you reduce your price please.

You get what you pay for with ssd's and to ask them to reduce the ssd because a probably inferior brand is cheaper elsewhere is daft!
