hi. i was wondering if anyone knew if there is likely to be a pricedrop in the XFX ATI Radeon HD 4870 1024mb GDDR5 graphics card soon. i know this sounds stupid but im torn between getting it now or in jully. are there any new cards out soon that will push it down or anything? thanks
 
april 6th is the realease date apparently for the ati and nvidea might be wrong though so dnt destroy me if i am
i was gona buy a 1gb 4870 but now am waiting as i wana see how the new series are first of all
 
4890 may bring it down a bit, but its going to be priced higher than the 4870 regardless, as its a higher card in the series, so we'll just have to wait and see, still theres not long to go now, and its release date is the 9th April. :)

I was all set to order a 24" monitor and a 4870 or GTX 260... just something respectable to play at 1920*1200 until the 'real' next gen cards (DX11) came out.

Now with these new cards on the horizon I don't know what to do :rolleyes:

All I've seen on google is estimated Dollar prices for the new cards. Anyone have a rough idea how much these new cards will launch at in £'s?
 
The 4870 is really cheap for what it is at the minute anyway and they're selling well so ATI don't really have any reason to drop the price do they?
 
no1 has said about the 275 series really though have they they are spose to come out same time as the ATI equivelant and it should be close with them also that will lower the nvidea cards hopefully:)
