Hi guys,
I am new to the forum and this is my first post also with my new PC :)
I want to find the best price&performance PC for high gaming ;)
You will be able to see my PC specs in my signature but I will mention them here too :

PC :

MB : ASRock Z68 Exreme 3 Gen.3
CPU : Intel I7 2600K 4.0GHz
RAM : 12GB DDR 3 1600MHz
Video Card : Ati Radeon 7970 3GB
HDD : 3 x 160GB - Raid 0 + 500GB
Case : CoolerMaster Stacker 830 NVIDIA Edition
PSU : Enermax Galaxy DXX 1000W

PS"I am waiting to get Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO which will allow me to overclock more my CPU"

Now I know that if you have to buy this PC from the store you will have to spend around 1100£(without the monitor !) but my question is how much would you spend for it if you had to buy it second hand ?
I am asking because I used second hand components to build it and it took me 10 days (7 of which to wait for all of the components to arrive !).

It takes a lot of time and bidding :D haha
To get the right components for the right price but I think what I saved is actually a lot ;) I am not mentioning how much I spent but I will leave you to evaluate the price for it ;)

Also we can do a comparison with price&performance between our PCs ;)
But I will leave that for another topic :)

To see my PC performance you can check the following links :

Can you please edit your signature.

What is the signature for? [edit your profile]
You may use a signature (commonly used in email messages) in your posts. You can specify in your profile a signature to use at the bottom of your posts. When you post, there is an option to use your signature. A signature may contain one or more images but they must fit within a box with maximum dimensions of 400 x 75 pixels (width x height) and with a maximum (combined) file size of 20k. Images containing mostly very large words or animated .gifs will not be permitted. You may also add 1 consecutive lines of normal or smaller text directly above or underneath the image with no spaces inbetween image and text. If no images are used then up to 4 consecutive lines of normal or smaller text is permitted. Do not pad out your text lines with blanks lines. A line of text is defined as having a maximum length of 400 pixels. If you want to turn the signature off in the future, you can come back and edit your post. If you have specified a signature in your profile, the box will be automatically ticked for you.

The forum Dons/Admins reserve the right to judge individual signatures, particularly those deemed to contain material of an adult or offensive nature. If the Dons/Admins think the signature is unsuitable for a family orientated forum, then it will be removed. If the user then replaces it without making changes, they will be suspended.

Now I know that if you have to buy this PC from the store you will have to spend around 1100£(without the monitor !) but my question is how much would you spend for it if you had to buy it second hand ?

Lastly there are to be no price checks outside of the Members Market.

Ok lets put it this way. My new PC compared to my old PC has improved 8% in terms of performance but I spent 21% more money.
This was my old PC :
MB : MSI Z68A G45
CPU : Intel I7 2600
RAM : 6GB DDR 3 1600MHz
Video Card : 2 x Ati Radeon 6870 1GB DDR CrossFire mode
HDD : 750GB
Case : Chieftec Dragon
PSU : Seasonic SS-600HT 600W

So what I am trying to say is , do you think this is a good value for money ?
Obviously I spent more money on better Case and PSU which will allow me to put more extreme components in future and also the case is amazing by the way ;) + now I have more potential for overclocking but still do you think that was a good transition ?

Overall I have a performance ratio of 59.934 points per 1£ for my new PC and 70.770 point per 1£ for my old PC ;) I got that score by summarizing my 3 scores (3DMARK 2011+ 3DMARK Vantage + Unigine v3.0)and dividing them by the price for my PC ;) if you want you can try the same to see how much points will you get per 1£ you spent ;)
More information about the tests and what settings I used , you can find on my videos ;)
3DMARK Vantage was on default performance settings !

There is an update to my scores :
3DMARK 2011 - P10144
3DMARK VANTAGE - P36410
UNIGINE v3.0 - 1358

And new price score : £68.44 per point :) Compare to my old PC where I had £70.77 but a lot lower scores on all of the Marks I think I made a very good investment ;)

£700 for my PC ;)

The scores are achieved with :
MB : AsRock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3
I7 2600k - 4.6GHz
Ati Radeon 7970 :
GPU - 1200MHz
Memory - 1650MHz
CoreV 1.2Mv.
RAM : 12GB DDR 3 1600MHz Timings 9-9-9-24

Everything stable !

CPU temp : 55 Load
VGA temp : 67 Load

I will upload some videos latter on with the test so if you are interested you can have a look ;)

My performance actually increased with 23% in both marks :) It was not a bad investment after all when we have in mind that I invested 21% more money ;)

Well the old PC was great ;) you are right !
I just wanted something better. But anyway I am really happy with my new PC now ! I think from this point on I will need to spend a lot more to get better performance and there is really no point of doing that. I think I found the perfect balance ! To spend 21% more and to get 23% more Performance I think it can't get better than that ! Of course that is because I build it myself using second hand components otherwise it wouldn't make sense and it wouldn't be possible !
