It's gay pride this weekend in Brighton. I live on the main route through town and will be hiding with windows and curtains shut. Hope it rains all day. I am slightly concerned to two gays upstairs will kick off again at some point, I might have to go and stay at the GFs.

Anyone going?

I am not homophobic, just want a quiet weekend.

If you really want to hide that badly (are you on the ground floor or something?) then just take it as a weekend to watch films (say the Godfather trilogy or similar) and play computer games. Or go stay with your girlfriend as you suggest and enjoy your weekend.

Almost as bad as ground floor, basement, overlooking (underlooking?) the main London Road. Basically will get loads of rubbish thrown down outside my window, wont be able to get out of my front door without fighting past loads of people and it's my weekend to look after the kids as well. So no chance of staying at the GF's after all. As you say, will put on some films, play some games and hopefully chill.

It usually quiets down in the evening a bit, apart from the tools that live upstairs from me who are being evicted shortly for drunken and violent behavior.

You could... watch the parade. Even buy the kids an ice cream. I hear it's a great family occasion and not nearly as grubby as some make it out to be.

I thought Gay Pride would consist of a lot of well dressed fashionable people discussing interior décor? You sure it isn't Heterosexual Pride or Drunken Chav Pride?

I did that a couple of years ago. While we were out, three men were standing in the middle of the street snoging each other and putting their hands down each other's trouser fronts. I enjoy the parade and floats etc, it's the dirty fools like these which spoil it.
