I put a relatively mild OC on my 2500K
My notherboard is MSI P67A GD65
Ram is the OCZ Platinum low voltage running 9,9,9,24 timings at 1.35 volts @ 1600mhz
CPU settings were x44 multi to get to 4.4ghz, vcore was on 1.25v. I set vdroop to low, enabled PLL Overvoltage and left pretty much everything else to auto.
I ran Prime Blend just for an hour as I wanted to see what the load temps were like. At full load all 4 cores were betwween 52 and 55 °C
The rig appears stable. WIn 7 installed with no issues, all necessary drivers for mobo, gfx installed with no issues. I have not had any BSODs in Windows. The system feels stable but obviously there is something afoot as I keep getting the rounding error in prime blend "FATAL ERROR: Rounding was 0.5, expected less than 0.4"
I am thinking it could be because of the following but I am really not sure
1. Not enough vcore to keep CPU stable underload ? I thought 1.25 would have been more than enough for 4.4 or I am deluding myself here ?
2. Fubar RAM ?
3. Northbridge ?
4. Incorrect bios settings ?
If anyone Else is running the same motherboard could they please let me know what other settings other than those Ihave said I changed above I need to look at ?
I was thinking of maybe kicking the RAM down to 1333MHz with the same timings in case it was a memory error, but I ran the memory test on it and both modules passed.
