prime95 settings

I have used IBT for ages don't bother with prime really and I haven't had any problems 50 passes of IBT as many G/flops a second as possible pass.
As long as you run it correctly as sometimes choosing the presets can give lower G/flops per second and doesn't stress test properly.

I'll give linx a look which is what IBT is using anyway ? IBT/Linx for me rather check stability in an hour than 8-12.

lol ok, well prime95 was on blend overnight (11.5hours) without error, so i am hoping its good. had it running at that for a while on tri-core, but temps were getting too high on stress testing :( max temp on DC is only 54 which is 12 under the TC tests, so looking good now until i get a new cooler.

as for IBT, what are the correct/best settings?

i do 20 runs of ibt then 4 hours of prime blend and then if i have time at least of couple of passes of memtest (always handy to have a ubuntu install disk handy for that reason) :)

Im in this camp, followed by a true 4hour+ 3d gaming of a decent game, never had a rig fail using this in many moons

i have done 11.5hours of blend, have a memtest cd but will do that if i have any signs of instability. having issues with games (well did when it was a tri-core) and getting issues with other software, so will require a fresh install before i do any benchtest/game stability tests :( running BT on max ram, 32 threads and 50 times to run. how long should this take, is it ok settings?

Prime blend is a mix of Large and then Small FFT, you need to run it 8+ hours though to ensure that it's run complete sequences of both, otherwise you may as well have just run Large FFT which it runs for the first few hours.

i ran it for 11.5hours though, and it was fine, but like i said, within 20mins IBT failed :(

Thats why i im not a member of the 12 hr prime 95 stable club as sometimes its still unstable, i found using a the mix the best prime, ibt etc the most sucess. Infact i have had prime and ibt stable only to fail in LFD2 or something, which is why i like to game for long peroid to make sure is is after all the goal is it not to overclock to stable and game? :p

Tbh to ocuk they shift so many bundles they cant fanny about with every single rig using loads of software but you only need to look on the forum to find people having problems even with bundles that pass the 12 prime. Not a negative thing its a business at the end of the day and they provided support for it so :D

i have upped the voltage and temps are now up to 63 :( but its proving a lot more stable on IBT. might just go to stock speed/voltage on tri-core until i can get another cooler.

63 on prime or ibt will be something like 50-55c real world load so your safe but no more untill you get a better cooler mate?

yeh, i have set the vcore to 1.400 (which is what AMD say is max) and its stable, but underload cpu-z is showing voltage as 1.448, which worries me, although, like i said it seems stable
