just started to overclock my cpu just taking my time. but was wondering what test to use to test stability should i use cpu torture test. also how long should i run it for. bearing in mond i am going up in 5hz increments. so dont wanna test for 24hrs every 5hz. but i will do a full 24hours when ive reached what im happy with.

Yeah you use torture test and select "blend".

I start off using 1MB SuperPi as my very rough stability test, and skip a lot of the 5mhz increment thing, I go in 100Mhz steps of CPU speed, find the instability and start fine tuning. For prime95 about an hour is what I use for a good indication of stability, then would do an overnight run once I've got my final overclock tweaked out.

Yeah I go in 100MHz steps and use Prime Small FFT to test CPU stability for 30mins. If it passes, I up it another 100MHz, if it fails I'll try increasing Vcore etc and retesting.

Eventually no amount of twiddling about with settings will get it stable. Once I get it there I'll back off a bit and retest for a lot longer and also run some other test to see if it's all hunky dory.

Why not Orthos? It's pretty decent, tortures 2 cores with 1 program. Otherwise the same as SP2004.
