Can anyone please recommend me a printer that costs around or less than £85? :)

Are there any wireless printers available within my budget or are they over my budget? :o

I would like it to be black or dark colour to match the rest of my PC please :o

If you can affor genuine ink then I would recommend a Canon, if not stear clear of them as all the new models use patented cartridges so there will never be 3rd party one available.

Thanks for the replies :)

sgx.saint, it's against the forum rules to mention competitors :o

I was looking at the HP website and came across the HP Deskjet 6980. Looking around, it's been out for over a year but it seems to look like what I'm after and is this a recommended printer?

Are there any newer printers available? :)

I'm not sure if I am allowed to link or mention other sites, but if you were to say look at the ******* website and the HP Photosmart 2575 which retails at £62.99. Pay by Google checkout and get £10 off as well.

Top notch printer, siver and black, and its a usb/network printer so although not directly wireless, you can plug it say into a Wireless Router somewhere else and still print from another room etc.

dude I'd reccomend you edit out that competitor out as you are not aloud to mention them on these forums, you may want to read through this,

Ooops, I didn't mentioned anything did I? *cough* .... *quickly edits previous post* :)

Anyway, beyond what I recommended, I'm not really an avid printer fanatic so couldn't really advise you further. Although the 2575 Photosmart is a great printer!

The Canon Pixma range of printer are allways quite highly talked about between my friends,

this ones a little over your budget at £106 but it's what I'd go for if I had a £100 notes lying around,

CANON PIXMA MP600

They also have an official shop on eBay selling new, used and refurb products normally complete with a warranty as well!

If you google a bit you will generally find that Canon and Epson are considered better quality printers than HP (or at least that was the case about 9 months ago when I last got one)

However, don't get an Epson they cost an absolute fortune to run as they drink ink like anything. I use a Canon mainly for business use but also for printing the odd photo and I'm on my 2nd set of cartridges since I bought it, Pixma printers (as previously mentioned) are a good one to go for.

Nice printer, I did consider looking at all in one printers too :)

However it doesn't offer wireless connectivity :(

Canon offers a wireless printer which is the PIXMA iP4000R but it's older than the HP I was looking at :(

I guessing it's cheaper to buy a printer with wireless connectivity built in rather than buying one of those print servers and a new printer together?

I have a Cannon iP4300 and am loving it :D

Fast printing, quiet, different options on where to load the paper, + simple.

Only downside is that its pretty pricey and only prints, so i got a cheapo HP Deskjet F380 for 30squidish for all the scanning, faxing, etc. (but its noisy + slow :D)

Thanks for the replies, currently I'm leaning towards the Canon PIXMA MP600 however there's a wireless version of it which is almost double the price, as an alternative I'm thinking of sharing the printer using a home network instead :)
