Whats the current pick of the crop for all in one printers ?

I'm thinking Canon MP640 but the lexmark interact is sixty quid cheaper

I have the MP640 - great printer, both for text, photos and printable CD/DVDs. Faultless wireless operation too. Quiet and reasonably fast.

Remember to factor in the cost of ink cartridges when comparing printer prices.

I always used to use epson printers and buy the compatible inks, never had a problem with but now a days epson printers seem quite cheaply made

canons do look good though, not sure on ink prices (genuine or comp)

Canon > 4700 about £70, cracking printer, compatible ink cartridges about £14 a set compared to £50 genuine cartridges. You sharp get your money back using compatables, l have the 4300, used compatible cartridges for over 2 years no probs at all.

the ip4700 isnt an all in one scanner copier job tho

not that i use those things very often i guess

I'm starting to think maybe all printers are hopeless unless they get a fair amount of use !

Printing maybe two or three things a month it seems the cartridges dry up or go time ex and I use half the ink trying to clean the print heads , then it still doesnt work so I buy new cartridges then if that doesnt work a new printer :(

I gave up on Epson printers due to cleaning problems.

The Canon i865 I bought in 2004 is still working, and has never had problems with blockages even when left for weeks between use.

I just bought a MP560 that I'm very happy with. The only obvious thing it doesn't do is print CDs.
