I've got a picture of resolution 32,000 x 6,000 and would like to get it printed into a large poster style picture. Is this even possible? Can printers handle an image that big? Will it look ok? It's very detailed and I want the detail to remain.

Ideally I don't want it to be bigger than say a metre wide. Is this realistic?

Cheers

yes you can get that size printed quite easily.

shouldnt be too expensive either. about £45 i would guess.

My mate does canvas prints like these and has a page on ebay that does it. Don't think I can link it for forum rules though?

Have been looking at getting a similarly sized print off of him.

Yeah I'd be happy to pay £45 that'd be fine.

It's actually made up of 30 3200x2000 images - but I want to put them together to make a giant image.

If the image size is 106 x 20 inches will it be possible to shrink it down without losing too much detail? Ideally I want this mounted on a wall but don't have that much room!

well you have to decide first the final size of the image that you want.

then you (or someone) will have to put the images together in photoshop to make the final size.

then you send the image off to the printers...

Go to your local Servicepoint. If your local uni has an architecture department, pop in there and ask about the students where they get their work printed.

Service should be able to print your document; costing between £30-50 depending upon paper you ask to print upon etc.

I'm not sure where someone got the £100,000 figure from :p
I wouldn't recommend printing upon canvas if your image colour is of great importance as canvas will impact the hue of your document colours. :)

I have just recently had a stitched panoramic printed off (on canvas) that came out at 15"x60" it cost me £60 which was effectively what it cost the guy to print and frame it (friend at work). So for a print that size expect to pay considerably more if you are getting it done professionally.

the quote of £ 45 is for the printing.

it does not include anyones time to stich it all together and it does not include a frame.
