Printing via network oddity

Right an odd one.

I have a Brother HL-820, its an old printer not supported in Vista. Now having upgraded to Vista I dont really want to throw a working printer away.

I have a networked XP box down stairs in the living room. Is there anyway to get the printer to work with XP through the Vista PC connected to the printer via a parallel.

XP (lan)------------> Vista (parallel)------------>Printer

I would do it the other way round -

Printer ---(parallel)---> XP ---(lan)---> Vista

In short, no. You have to do what's written above.

Though had you done a quick google, you'd note that Brother say the HL-720 driver can be used in Vista successfully.

I have a similar problem, the epson downstairs I cant get a vista driver for, so I have to stick anything I want to print into a shared folder, then go downstairs and open it on the xp machine to print it. Luckily I rarely do any printing.
