Just got new bank account and can choose one benefit either gadget cover unto 4 devices maximum £300 or 4 passes to priority pass. Lounges.
Going to australia this year and have two 8hour stints in Bangkok airports as well as normal checking at heathrow and Perth. All these have priority pass. Lounges, just wondering if anyone's used them and if they are worth it or not? So anyone got personal experience with it?

They are pretty good IMO. But they are only about £25~ each way so might be worth taking the insurance and doing the airport lounge separate?

I have it though my credit card.
You get free drink and nibbles and its normally quiet.
It really depends how many times you are going to use it ? 4 times a year then i wouldnt bother.
I use mine 30+ times a year and its worth it.
Also some lounges have a time limit of two hours so i would check.

Haven't really got anything to insure, which is why I'm considering this, they have a separate policy for phones so that's insured and £300 isn't enough to insure pad, which leaves a £60 camera.

Just looked at cost £69 registration fee + £15 a visit, any idea. How I find out if theres a time limit.

It looks crap. Lets check out the lounges you could use:

Perth: Not available for International flights, its in the Domestic terminal.
Bangkok: Maximum 2 hour stay!
Heathrow: Wow! You can actually use one on your way out. The arrivals loungue though shuts at 1pm!

Singapore one and a few around Australia ohhh and the one in KL. IIRC hong kong one as well. I highly rate them but suppose just depends on the person

PP is a waste of money IMO.

Seems like you are quite limited on what lounges you can use, and time limits (???!!!) Seeing as you are getting it free, I guess you may as well though....

For 8 hours though.

Take a good book, find yourself a spot/seat near a plug charge up yo iPad again (remember plug converters ). Have a beer or 3 time soon goes I spent a planned 13 hours at Singapore . Time soon goes .....

All of the above assuming you don't do PP. Not sure how strictly they enforce the 2 hour limit . Might be worth a google

Had a 12-7am wait at Dubai on the way home from J'burg a few years ago. Found an Irish bar that was not too busy and me and my friend just set up shop and drank/dozed in stretches.

Was pretty dismal but the time eventually passes. Arriving back is dismal Manchester was a bit of an anticlimax to say the least :)

I have had my PP for a couple of years now and think its well worth it. None of the lounges have ever enforced the 2 hour rule, I spent around 9 hours in Doha last year.

Genrally I travel quite a lot and end up waiting for hours between flights so its proved to be quite useful. I get unlimited access for free with my credit card (natwest black).

They all have free wifi, free drinks (alcoholic in some) and free snacks in most. The main benefit is that you don't have lots of crazy kids running around and you have a quiet comfortable space to sit and do some work or take a nap.
