PrismXR - Puppis S1 Specialized Router - for PC-VR Streaming

I got one of these a few weeks ago and I have had nothing but issues with it.

First of all, the PrismXR app sometimes just does not open on my PC. I found it weird that I didn't have to install it, it was just extract and then run the .exe.

I have been able to connect and use Virtual Desktop, but no matter what combination of settings I use I always seem to get weird latency/networking spikes, which in turn causing the FPS to drop. It's so frustrating, as when it's working, it is brilliant. Has anyone else had performance issues?

I've tried all of the different codecs and runtimes, I don't really know what else to do. I have a Quest 3 and a decent PC (7800X3d and 5090).
Seems strange..I haven't had any issues with mine. It's been working great with good latency, haven't noticed any serious networking spikes.
As it connects via usb only thing I can think of is some sort of usb issue?
Have you tried it in a different usb port or maybe a powered hub.
Had no issues with the pc app either, opens everytime .
Only issue I do get is that network sharing doesn't work everytime but turning sharing off and on sorts this straight away
I'm running a 3700x and 4070 super so a lower spec system than yours .

ive been having a few issues as well.
When it works its great, but once every 5 minutes i get a sudden spike in latency.
My connection rate seems to vary between2400mbps and 1900mbps. Could this be part of the problem?
The S1 is only about 5ft from where i sit so should be a great signal.

Sounds like something isn't right..sitting 5ft away you should be getting a solid 2400mbps connection. Mines about that distance and never drops below 2400
Are the WiFi bands congested where you are?

Not massively.
The puppis s1 has set itself to channel 64 which is empty.

I left the app running whilst I played a game. It stuttered/frooze badly. Looking at the app it dropped to 0 on the link rate for a few seconds.

Are you using virtual desktop?

Yes i am

I have seen on the prism discord that someone fixed random stutters by switching location to the US.
I have also changed the usb ports so will need to see if that affects anything.
It was originally connected to a usb pci card. I am now connected via then motherboard usb ports. Will give it a twirl and see if anything happens…

Did you have any luck getting it working.
I've formatted and reinstalled windows and no matter what I do now I'm.getting serious network spikes causing major FPS drops.
Ive given up now and the pupis is going back.
I'm going to get a dedicated router

I got the PrismXR the other day and couldn't get it to stream above 284mbps no matter what I did.
I think there was too much wifi congestion going on from neighbouring routers and going through every channel didn't sort it out.

Yesterday, I picked up a TP-Link AXE5400 set up as an access point and it's rock solid 2401mbps.

Shame, but hey ho. Anyone want a PrismXR?
Which axe5400 model did you get?
I'm going to have to get one as an access point now my pupis isn't working

Not sure what happened to the pupis but it was lagging every 30 seconds and changing different channels etc made no difference
Gutted as it was working fine before I reinstalled Windows 11
Luckily I was able to send it back
Had a TP Link AXE75 as a replacement
Set it up as an access point and perfect streaming performance at 6ghz, 2401 mbps.

I find my TP Link AXE75 works great mostly but almost every session the wifi will drop with an 'Access Point Full' error, when the Quest Pro is the only device connected to it.

The connection otherwise is great. I can really crank up the bitrate in both Link and Virtual Desktop.

Possibly the Pro is saturating the connection because it's using the full bandwidth.

That's not usually a problem with the router, that's normally an issue with the connecting device. The Quest Pro might have issues connecting to Wifi 6E on that particular router. The way to test this is to turn off 6Ghz on your router and just connect the Pro to the 5Gz network and see does that error happen.

If that is the case, A fix that might work is to turn off smart connect on the router. And go into the Mac address filtering and put the mac address of the Quest Pro as the only device that is allowed to connect. I think it's called "Access Control" on TP Link routers. If that doesn't work, you could try some other 6E routers and see can your Quest Pro connect to them using the 6Ghz network.

Possibly the Pro is saturating the connection because it's using the full bandwidth.

It's not possible for the Quest Pro to use the full bandwidth of that router. The maximum it will is 960Mbps. And that's if you have set the encode Bitrate in the Oculus debug tool to 960Mpbs and are using Link/Airlink. And if you are using Airlink and you properly measure it, you will see that you are actually way under that 960Mbps figure that Airlink is reporting.

Smart connect is off on the Router BTW.

I did find the Mesh setting was turned on so I turned that off but it still seems to happen.

It's not a router problem, Smart connect just sometimes makes it worse. If adding the MAC address of the Pro in the access control settings doesn't work, then you either have to wait for Meta to fix it, try another 6E router or just live with it.
