Private lease - MERCEDES-BENZ A CLASS DIESEL HATCHBACK A200d SE 5dr 2016

A class base spec is very poor IMO so this is probably not something I'd consider leasing. This is the type of car you're almost certainly better buying a 6 month-12 month old example of and getting some kind of finance on that. Personally I think the C class is a lot better value but then if you really need the hatchback then you're stuck.

Depends on the term, if it's 2 years then it works out at £4296. Does that seem reasonable to drive a base spec A class for 2 years?
I'm also betting those fees don't include VAT?

Don't forget to add VAT to those costs.
On the spec - it's the base model so there is lots it doesn't have. Sat Nav (Garmin Map Pilot) is a £500 option.

Its VAT is included in the price.

2 Year lease.

Is there really any need for you to be so pedantic?

yes, OcUk loves to roast poor fools who just want a shiny new car with a 16 plate on the drive when they don't dare say it and go on about how their existing car is too old and must be got rid of it because its costing too much.

Just post up you want a shiny new toy for no other reason than its new and shiny and you work hard enough to have what you want. No comeback to that :D

In this case it's £4,910 over the two years. It's down to you whether or not it's worth it. Be wary though that, as others have said it is base spec. Very little comes as standard on an SE. If you add toys to it you'll increase the monthly cost drastically as you pay full price for options, regardless of how much they affect residuals.

Personally I'd keep the Scirocco.

Have you driven the a200d se? As said by others it is pretty basic spec and terrible. What are the leases like for the sport models? Someone mentioned a c class but the leases on those would be 300+ pm.

Is there any reason to own a hatchback op? There are a couple lease deals for the new audi a4 1.4tsi going around at 170pm 6+23 but the lead times are now around June.

Really?
That's the cheapest I've known that car to be then. Looking around an A180d SE 5dr is around £192 with a £1,800 initial payment.

Your deal is £1,300 cheaper than the same car with the lower powered engine. If it is the car you want then I would be grabbing that deal very quickly !!

I had to admit, the A200 is a stunning car, one which I'd indeed love to own.

Why  it's a Bland looking poverty spec hatchback with a tractor engine and about 140bhp
It's about as far away from premium German whip as it gets. Why anyone buys these things when they could get a far better spec Golf, Leon, Focus etc is beyond me

^ Good point, CHL can only get to around £280/month with £1500 up front.

OP are you sure this isn't the A180d SE deal that someone linked to in the other lease thread?

Yeah I get a friends discount who works for evans :)

Badge snobbery?

There's no good reason to swap the Scirocco for this to be honest. Unless you wanted something with a 16 plate. I can't see it costing £5k to run over 2 years like this lease will cost you?

The SE version misses a fair bit of kit as standard from memory.

As others say, there's no heated seats, there's a 7" display not the 8" in the Sport and AMG line, you only get an FM/AM radio not DAB (its an option I think across the models until you get to the a250?), no sat nav (that's another option, though you can get the SD card off ebay for £250 rather than the £500 dealer option), If it's manual you don't get the DYNAMIC select function, Air-Con rather than climate control, none of the fancy interior lighting in footwells etc, no rain sensing wipers.

If you get any packages such as executive, premium etc that can change things. The engine isn't great for a 2.2d, around 9 seconds 0-60. The auto box helps if it comes with that.

Air-Con rather than climate control

How on earth does any car from a "premium" marque still come with manual AC?! Even my parents' 2008 Mazda3 1.6 has climate control. Mental.

Presumably won't have HIDs either. Sounds like a pathetically basic car with a fancy badge on really.

I hated the A200d i had. It handled ok, drove OK, interior was OK but the engine and gearbox combo was awful.
