I think there is some confusion between a personal plate and a private plate. Aprivate plate can be anything but if it relates to the owner it is personal.
Your first name, which I imagine the vast majority of your acquaintances refer to you by, is a really cool thing to have emblazoned across your car.
Your initials aren't cool Sean, but your name is
As for the spacing and 6 digits being better, most people haven't a clue how the system works and don't care. They've probably no idea your initials make up part of the other plate.
But they will see your name
