Pro Cook Pans

*REVIVAL*

Procook are no longer on amazon it would seem, so cannot see any reviews, why is that ?
is it an ill omen, they don't like giving Amazon a cut any more ?

was looking for some pans, procook have some free delivery vouchers on their mailing list, so was thinking them.
I liked to think Amazon reviews can be a bit more independant than those on Procook website itself.
Procook is still as good as it's always been, no brand tax and really good stuff, if you can get yourself to a shop they have some really good staff too!

Amazon reviews are worthless and have been for years.

ProCook stuff is all decent in my experience. Not incredible, but sensibly priced, good quality....miles better than no-brand Chinese tat on Amazon.

Definitely agree with you on the Amazon reviews, though at the same time I've always been a bit suspicious of so many positive reviews on the ProCook website. So its good to come across this thread and get some opinions, think I'll finally grab a set when they next have a decent offer on.

you can usually distinguish legitimate reviews ? they are written by native English speakers for starters, and on amazon,
you can look at same peoples, other reviews/vocabulary, to ascertain legitimacy.

why I needed a new pan - well I just bought a lid eventually.
- the lid on the Stellar 9000 just went pop whilst on the pan, it was a cooling pan, off the heat full of apples that had been cooked,
at the time, there were minimal glass shards and in maintained it's integrity (lie a toughened windscreen)
no idea why it broke had not thermally stressed it, hadn't dropped it, had a steam hole so no vacuum build up. ?

(Waitrose finally came good on Mutti's for pizzas - 3 weeks of waiting - another HGV/brexit victim )

What are these? Not heard of whole clad before

AllClad is an american brand and of the go to choices for cookware. https://www.all-clad.com/about-us gives some more information about the process of how they are built.

A lot of off the shelf cookware is made either from a poor metal + poorly coated. I've had pots chip out the shiny bit without rough usage.

Benefits of a quality pot like that is , it has a long life, is not prone to warping , has better heat distribution and health wise considered better.

I bought these professional ceramic frying pans from Pro Cook a couple of months ago and I've got to say I'm a little disappointed with the non-stick-ness. They're pretty easy to clean, but foods quite often stick to them. I followed the product care here.

I've used cheap Tefal pans before which had better non-stick-ness out of the box, although admittedly they degraded badly over time.

Seeing as these get such good reviews, I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong? Or perhaps is there a certain range of finish that Pro Cook do that are better than others?

Quality wise, the pans feel really nice and well made.

It's actually a French brand (owned by SEB) that's made in the US.
Got to use a set of All-Clad d5's back in the day as we were thinking of purchasing a set. 2 things I remember about them A) they are horrifically expensive.... think £250/£350 per saucepan dependent on size. B) They are annoyingly tall meaning you have to stick your head right over them to see inside potentially into clouds of steam etc

As per above post went with Mauvel and are pleased as punch with them even after 10 years.

Why do cheap brands insist on using the the terms "Professional" & "Pro" in marketing when it's anything but?. Pro Cook have opened a new shop in Tottenham Court Road (London). Not impressed after a quick walk around!

Oh i did not know that. Yeah , the form is a bit strange and i'd also say the handle is a bit odd, but they are cheaper than mauviel when i checked. In any case, cant say you go wrong with either.

I bought pans from the Tefal Ultimate ON range recently. Pricey for Tefal, but they are pleasingly heavy duty and very non stick. I'm happy with them so far and if the non stick is as durable as they claim, they'll have been a good purchase.
