Pro Evo 6 Dilemma - 360 or Ps2 version?

I went into my locaL Chips today and played PES6 on the PS2, I'm struggling to see the difference in terms of gameplay, it was exactly the same! I have played over 20 hours of PES since it came out on the 360 so I'm used to it now, the only difference was the poor graphics and controls.

Perhaps if your used to the 360 version first and then go to Ps2 it won't seem so bad. I'm going to keep trying to play it, although i'm having major difficulties with the pad also.

Any opinions of veteran ps2 players?

50hz on ps2 is the way to play, like in pes5. If you didn't have it on 50hz you'd get all kinds of slowdown online. I expect 60hz will make it more like the 360 version, I might try this theory later.

Pretty gutted over all the negative comments. I bought what will most probably be my last game this year and opted for PES over both the new Marvel game and Tony Hawks. Guess I'll see what its like when I get home :o

What was the thinking behind the 360 version? Game modes left out, can't save replays etc. This is a poor show, like i said i cant compare game play like for like but I’d be willing to bet that this would never happen on the PS3.
Exactly why I think the PS3 version will be rammed to the gills with features. They noobered the 360 version on purpose. Lets face it - there isn't any excuse for such a poor effort on the 360.

I have only ever played fifas and I love PES 6. Its about perfect for me as a football sim. I dont care which stadiums I'm playing in or how many. When a football game plays this sweet I can play in one stadium. The gameplay is almost perfect.

Its all about the gameplay, don't see it matters which one you get it for.

Then play some of the others, as IMO PES6 is the worst version to date :-/

I have PES4 on my PC and it looks and plays better than the 360 version of PES 6 :(

Perhaps, but I think the other non-360 versions of pes6 are the best games yet.

360 version does have good graphics though. Very crisp.

All my fears have been laid to rest. Finally got a chance for a couple of games late last night and I'm loving it :D

I'm keeping it a bit billy basic until I relearn the ropes (havent properly played a PES game in a couple of years or more) but just simply moving the ball around is so instinctive.

On a slightly related note I played the new Tony Hawks demo and OMG that felt good to play after American Wasteland. For me atleast the 360 game front is on an all time high at the moment... (shame my bank balance isn't)

Looks? what a load of rubbish 360 version is visually better then PC the PC version uses PS2 engine. 360 is much more polished lighting effect and better graphical detail on players better looking pitches.

Is there any reason they toned down the 360 version? Seems strange to me that they would have 2 different versions of the game entirely...360 version and PC/PS2 version?

Potential of an update?

PES6 on the 360 = mixed reviews

Personally i think its spot on....apart from the lack of game modes and the xbox analogue being completly crap.

do u think there is any chance of an update coming out on xbox live? it cant be that hard to add a couple of game modes. dont hold me to that though, im not a programming guy. it would make sense for konami to at least provide the classic players and teams??

comments?

What do you mean the classic players and teams?

I'm sure an update will be released for the online issues some people are having.

He means like Linekar/Gazza era England, Maradonna Argies, Peles Brazil etc.
They were in Pro evo before.

Maybe im being synical here but with the way its going, I reckon you'll see updates eventually but you'll have to buy em.

Seems to be the way now, take some features out, charge people for them in a few months time. Easy money for the game makers. A rip off for us.

Thats what EA would do I'd imagine, not Konami.

thats the best part of Pro evo, the way you can move the ball around, and the instinctive shooting, passing etc. this is what stands it head and shoulders above other football games imo.

The problem is the insanely poor AI from the CPU, and your teammates also...

say u did a run with your right back down the right wing, u tend to overtake your right winger, who just lags behind, hardly trying to get involved in the play. This bodges everything because counterattacks become you vs their whole defence. No support from team mates etc, no midfield breaks. Once the AI becomes reactive to user inputs Pro Evolution will be amazing.

give the pc version a go, for me i like it a lot better than the 360 version as it plays like WE10.

i still don't mind the 360 version, i wouldn't say it sucks but the mechanics feel too floaty for me and the online button lag just ruins it.

plus the pc version has all the stuff like edit/save replay etc and with kitserver and patches the game visually looks pretty nice ....still not as nice as the 360 version but not far away.

biggest bonus is you can use the dpad with your ps2 controller on the pc :p

What do I get then, im getting a 360 this week, do I go for PE6 or Fifa07?

Is there demos I can play of them first?

I have only ever played a couple of games of PE5 on the PS2.

Thers a FIFA demo on live you can download. Your nearest Game should have the PES on a display TV for you to try, theres no demo available.
