Pro Evo 7 details inc 18Gb!!

Yeah definitely agree with the earlier version being like that, but hopefully with all this development they will see whats happened and be able to alter so that on a higher difficulty setting it is harder to get past an opponent but once you are past them if you have a higher speed and ball control level then you cant be caught.
Hopefully they make freekicks specifically tailored to my needs as I haven't scored 1 freekick in PES6 ever lol, blatantly just me being naff at them but cmon people let me score once! :p

I do hope it gets balanced out, but I fear it may not, speed players have had less of an impact for a few years now.

As for the free kicks, I really do hope they sort them out. I've said it before, but the free kick system in 4 was perfect. They either need to revert back to that, or try and actually beat it, which until I see it I wont believe to be possible.

Konami seem to have a habit of changing things for the sake of it, regardless of whether the feature is already close to perfect or not.

The reason the game has gone in this direction, is because in the first few versions (ISS Pro 98, ISS Pro Evolution 1,2) speed was literally the only thing you needed to walk all over your opponent, on any difficulty setting.

Nigeria had some extremely fast players, and it was more than possible to simply run past everyone and score.

I actually used to just put R Carlos as my left sided striker, Ronaldo on the right with Rivaldo in the middle because I knew even if R Carlos' finishing wasn't up to a strikers level, he would create so many chances with his speed alone that he would still convert more than his fair share.

I do agree that it has gone too far the other way though, even when you've broken clear with the ball it can he hard to lose a tracking defender, and that's even with knocking the ball ahead of yourself and running on to it.

Also in ML I have player that are a yard behind me do these fantastic tackles and nick the ball off me. It almost impossible to get the defender wrong footed in the higher levels. Sometimes even on level 3 I create maybe one chance per game. Yet I can player a really good player on ranked and get 5 or 6 good chances. A human player you can turn this way and that when running at them, the AI always seems to have your run nailed.

I agree the freekicks are a joke. So much so that its worth taking players down to save your win. I also think the chip buttons could be simplier.

I'd like to see better loading of strategies as well, 6 is a chore. Also more than 1v1 online and making your own team of players 'dream team' to play online against friends non ranked.

The chip is something I'd forgotton, but you're right, it's not up to scratch. I wont say 4 had the best chip of all the series because it's only in 5 and 6 where it has been weak, it used to be excellent in pretty much every version before that.

I'm surprised you're not on the top level yet (If I read that right). Have you only been playing master league?

I usually work my way through the difficulty levels (Skipping levels 1 and 2, the jump from 2 to 3 is always the big one, as you've already noticed) with every new version before going in to the master league. I generally just play the World Cup/Konami Cup over and over again, start off I don't even qualify from the group, then maybe I only just fail to qualify and so on. It's slow progression tbh, but when the game is as good as Pro Evo it's all good anyway.

I think the chip's better now tbh. Used to be far too easy to pull off, requires more skill now and comes off less often just like in a real game.

Agree regarding the free kicks. Best was 4, though 5 wasn't too bad. 6 is appalling, imo at least.

I thought 5 was best for free kicks. 6 uses the same or a similar system. it's the little bit of lag/slow down you get on set pieces online that make them hard.

offline it's not so bad and i've scored a few, but only scored about 4 online :(

I'll have to try it offline. I only really play it on at the moment and although quite bad, you do forget about the lag after a while.

this latest instalment is said to be at its best on the PS3, according to PlayStation Universe

Hmm...

Anyway, 18GB is ridiculous, when it comes out on the PC is it going to use 18GB hard drive space to install, despite still being fully HD? I very much doubt so, sony are just making it look like it needs blue ray when it doesnt, why do they do this? Its understandable when a massive game finally comes out, like FF, but till then I dont belive a word

Does it not actually mean it can save 18GB of data to HDD :D

I don't think my heavily modified version on the PC of PES6 weighs that much and thats with hi-res kits, and 100's of stadiums, 18GB of game data from Konami? have to laugh.....

The 18Gb may well be to do with cutting load times. Blu Rays have a slower rate of data transfer, so it's possible that data may have been put on the disc multiple times to speed up the loading, as other games have done/are going to do iirc.

It could also just be that most games would use this amount of space if it was available, but as they're only working with 9Gb then they have to use a lot of compression to fit it all on the disc, which isn't now needed.

Either sounds perfectly viable and understandable to me.

I can win games with default teams in normal one off games against the AI at the highest level. Master League is different though, I've tried with both developement on and off. Both ways I whup level 2 and struggle on 3. Ive have now won everything with both my teams on level 3 though. Need to go upto 4 now :(

I love the master league format of developement but think its a bit long winded. Someone like walcott takes 10 seasons to peak and their isn't enough there to keep you going that long to see how good he gets.

I reckon I've played about 60 seasons of ML on pro evo 6 with various teams and formats. Most frustrating of all is you can't see any sort of future development curve until you have bought the player.

So lets say I buy Lescott for 5k at 20. Then you get to see his curve is rubbish. Its so hit and miss where I think you should be able to employee various levels of scout. Employee the best scout and he finds you the best potential.

The search engine for players is also rubbish.

Biggest joke of the ML though is Smith is the best developed CF in the game :D
