This is hilarious. You've gone round in circles, gone back on what you've previously said, and then denied it ever occurred.

Do I want user definable resolution steps? no I dont

Hell, I dont even know what they are

you dont know? oh dear. ok well with my mx518 for example you can set the sensitivity low so you can snipe more accurately in games, or do fine work in photoshop, at the touch of a button. Its actually a very good feature of these 'presicision' mice and one that you'll learn to love, if you've ever used it.

since you obviously haven't, your in no positision to tell anybody what the best mouse is. espeically when some people here have used your mouse and other, better, mice.

Fair enough

That sounds pretty cool tbh

You get what you pay for and I do agree, your mouse is good
I just felt argumentative

Sorry, night :)

nah a mouse is a mouse
Why pay the price of yours when mine is far superior and cost a shade of the price :)

A mouse is a mouse and yet yours is far superior, how did you work that one out? (already been said I know, but the stupidity of your statement requires it to be repeated)

I had the standard MS mouse, got an MX510 and it is so much better. More comfortable, more accurate, useful shortcut buttons (feel lost without them), faster, looks nicer etc. and it was only £20 with a good mousemat :D

Christ, haven't been into the gaming scene for about 6 months but I played at a high level when I was.

I had many mice, inc MX500/510/518 and a Diamondback. I kept the diamondback because I preferred the larger buttons as they required a lighter tap and the mouse was lighter overall.

Also a good mouse won't make a bad player good, but it can make a good player better ;)

Didn't the OP ask what pro-gamers use?

I suspect they use the top spec logitech or razer mice, or have some uber custom jobbies (maybe an enhanced DPI intellimouse explorer? ergonomics f t w)

Personally I found my Copperhead made a noticeble difference in CS:S over my IE

A lot of them favour the MS IntelliMouse 3.0 Optical due to the wheel for "fastswitching" between weapons (it changed to a dodgy one on 4.0 ) and it doesn't have the ergonomic feel that was in 4.0s and later models. The popularity of it is still high so Microsoft are releasing a new version near the end of this year in the same style.

Gaw we have a Parrott

G5 comes with stupid little weight ajustments. However it is a lush mouse. And there is a massive amount of difference between a rollerball mouse and accurate optical...i couldnt go back now.

without being big headed i have been to a number of lan tournaments across the world when i used to play cs1.6 on the world circuit (2 years ago) the vast majority of the players were using the intelli series most commonly the 1.1 or 3 versions! a few from american teams used the logitech mx510's!

I personally have gone in this order of mice intellimouse 1.1 - razer diamondback - logitech mx518 - razer copperhead - back to mx518 - and now currently on a razer diamondback pro 1.6!

G5 and steelpad. I used the Intellimouse before but they wear out too fast for me and once you get used to the G5 just like any mouse it becomes second nature.

So I guess its what your used to and are looking for in a mouse. I just want something that will go the distance.

I have the G7 and love it. The weights in the G5 sit where my battery pack goes.

I play a lot of games in spare time but also work on my pc; spreadsheets, graphics and code and have to say the G7 out performs over basic mice.

On the g5 and g7 you have hardware controlled DPI selector situated just behind the 5way wheel. This is invaluable to me as a sniper in bf2 as i can drop the dpi for better targetting. When using a tank I can increase the dpi for faster turret swivelling.
The 5 way mouse wheel again is amazing in spreadsheets. (up down left right and click) and the feel of it is spot on for me. Some microsoft ones seem too ridged.

Reason I went for the g7 over g5 was the fact its wireless and suits my setup/desk better. But the battery life is compromised; however it comes with 2 battery packs and the spare is always sat charging in the wireless dock so it takes seconds to switch. I can actually switch packs mid flight on bf2 so its no hassle.

A mouse is never just a mouse its a personal choice and as important as choosing the right keyboard.
