Toban Raceway Park in the USA is preparing to kick off what looks to be one of the biggest rFactor events of the year: ProSimRacing.com's "Then & Now: Two Years of rFactor" presented by Image Space Incorporated on Friday. This event, which is to celebrate the 2nd anniversary of the rFactor sim, is comprised of two separate racing tournaments spread over two weekends. The first event, a Kodi ZR Z-Type tournament, will see over 100 drivers take to the track in their Z-Type’s this weekend as they attempt to prove they are the fastest. The event features a prize pool of $500 to be shared with the top 10 finishers and a $20 bonus prize for the fastest driver during Friday qualifying. The event will be one of the largest prize paying races for rFactor thus far. You can tune in and watch all the rounds of racing live on PSRTV.

if you want to see one of the small battles that was posted on the forums, with two drivers trying to get 6th place for the main event yestaday.
here it is.

bought this when it came out , thought it was good but didnt keep my attention very long . came back to it a few months ago and ive got to admit
the mods you can get now are extensive. im really getting into the megane trophy mod in a big way . there are mods for every taste , if you`re a petrolhead give it a go you`ll not be dissapointed.

yea i really love rFactor.

i bought a xbox 360 for Forza 2. but... nothing beats the pc!
and i can do everything with rFactor and more. and i love qualifing!
plus... 40+ drivers = mad.

like yestaday was playing, went from last possition 40th - 5th and the race before from 38th to 1st, (got hit though, went down to 4th)

but still. i seen a lot of new drivers playing lately. (some bad ones too)
but still love racing!

must watch it today its around 2pm GMT time.
im starting 28th though, as i missed the heat races yestaday.

look out for me :)

Forget it unless you have a good steering wheel with clutch as majority of servers have no aids enabled not even auto shift you just can never be competitive on a gamepad.I gave up and unistalled as i just don't have the money for a £200 wheel setup.

thats why this sever... is called PRO SIM RACING.
im still using a pad!

did allright qualified 9th, got to 7th, but spun.. and everything went downhill there. two speed pit late stops. :(

just one of those days!

but giving up and unistalling it... well... aint learing nothing there.

You will never be up there without a steering wheel it's impossible unless you have 3 hands.

can anyone tell me, on the demo when i turn all assists off is that what the general settings are that everyone plays with online?

I only use Auto Clutch now'a days, unless its a endurance race im in.. I might turn low tc on for less noob-ups.

I gotta say, the demo is nothing like the full version. As you cant add mods + tracks to the demo.

You definately dont need a £200 wheel setup, or a clutch. There's plenty of people using old Logitech / Momo / MS wheels fine with rF. The old PS2 Driving Force wheel works just fine with Logitechs PC drivers, as does the DrivingForce Pro. The former can be found for around £20, and a DFP is only around £45-50 these days iirc.

i run all aids off including auto clutch(thats what the clutch peddle on the G25 is for:p), been simracing for about 4 years now and been a modder for about 3 of those years aswell.
I just dont know how i lived beffor simracing, simply nothing compares.

infact here are some video highlights of a 2 hour enduro at bathurst i took part in while ago online http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XZczo64qS3M

well i try playing and almost all servers make you use the clutch which is kind of dodgy if you need to use a button to do so.

I am interested in Rfactor but the clutch issue sounds a bit off putting. Using a button on the wheel is no good I take it? I have a Microsoft FF wheel and really want to get back into racing again after a long off period :) I am also thinking about Dirt.
