Two Cards are dealt from a pack of 52 cards. What is the probability that the second card dealt is a club?

So a card gets dealt making the deck 51 cards

So surely, there are two answers, it's either 12/51 or 13/51 depending on if the first card was a club or not

[edit]actually, I think i've got this:

club then club

13/52 x 12/51 = a

Diamond and Club

13/52 x 13/51 = b

Spade and Club

13/52 x 13/51 = c

Heart and Club

13/52 x 13/51 = d

answer = a + b + c + d (which I made as 1/4)

Another way of thinking about it is this:

Imagine you deal all 52 cards out, and record the suit order.

The first time ytoumight get:

HCDSSDCHHDS...etc

2nd time

SDCCCHSDDSH...etc...

Now write them all down

HCDSSDCHHDS...
SDCCCHSDDSH...
CHDSDCHSSDC...
and so on...

Its clear that the likelihood of the 2nd card being a given suit is 1/4, since they're all equally likely.
