With me getting a 4k tv I'm wondering if until I get my hands on a 4k blu ray player I can hook the tv up to my PC via my 970 and play 4k content that way?

Will ocuk be stocking 4k capable blu ray drives?

you wouldn't need your 970, or even your PC, just hook it up to your monitor using HDMI

Sorry mate, edited my original post slightly for clarity... I meant could I hook my PC up to a 4k tv and play content that way

There is no software available with the license required to play back UHD Blu-ray discs

Nor do I think there are any optical UHD Blu-ray drive with AACS 2.0 keys built in.

'Xbox One S' is currently the cheapest UHD Blu-ray capable device.

If you look around the Samsung 4k player has dropped considerably and there were reports of seeing it around £280 so look out for them this week if you want a dedicated player. Also there is meant to be a new Panasonic 4k player coming out around the £300 mark.
