Purchased a budget rig for the girlfriend, has a Pentium D 3.06 in it, will be 1gb of whatever ram.

How would an X800XT 256mb fair in this system? I know nothing about Radeons so thought i'd ask. WOuld it be overpowerd for a pentium D or underpowereD? should i look for a cheap 1950 Pro or something?

X800 would be a good buy if your girlfriend doesn't play many games but the X1950 is close to, if not double trhe performance of the X800.
 
Ah cool. she does play games actually and her current favourite is Half Life 2. I used to manage it on an MX440 64mb, but it wasnt very pretty. Whilst the X800 would probably cope i'd rather get her the best i can on a budget. Thanks for the help :)
