I think i have made a bad choice when i got my kitten, he seamed so sweet the first time we met.
But now hes grown up a little he bites and scratches if you try to stroke him, wakes me up at 5 am clawing my neck as he drools uncontrollably, runs around like a loony chasing invisable objects and if i look at him funny he runs and dives on me.
Ive tried stopping him getting on the dinning table but that seams to be his favorite place to lie and sleep.
Ive been told this is normal for kittens but my brother got his sister and she is a totally diffrent cat.

Any ideas to stop the anti social behaviour.

On the plus side hes never messed anywhere but his litter tray.

If he is constantly drooling take him to the vets and get his teeth checked, might have bad teeth hence the bad moods!

Young male cats attacking invisible objects? Attacking you in the night? Drooling?

He needs a Harbl-ectomy.

He's had his injections and check ups by the vet. He says he is in perfect condition and growing well. He only drools when he purrs.
will add picture when i can figure out how too.

Sounds like an awesome pet to me.... I'll have him off you!

when he is old enough to be neutered he should calm down and as for jumping on worktops and tables get a water pistol and squirt him every time, we spent at the most 2 days doing this, our cats soon cottoned on! ( don't soak him). also perhaps think about getting another kitten, two always play so well together.

What you have there is an NMC

Normal Male Cat

They really are all different, I'm sure they are allowed to pick a 'special' skill when they are born which ranges from drooling to staring into corners and howling

Sounds like a normal kitten to me.

My missus is a training vet, and the vets recommend pheromone to relax cats for similar problems, and it seems to work. Have a look here, if your interested.

My cat is the exact same, except female. One minute i would be stroking her, then next she is clung onto my arm biting and kicking with her back legs :D she's so random though but it's just cat behavior.

I give her some catnip and she spazes out in the corner for a few minutes, gives me a break!

Get him some catnip mice to play with.

yeah it happened to my cat too, he grown out of it now. have a squirtly bottle in every room(like a windowcleaning stuff bottle) with water and give him a feq squirts when he bites and scratches. when he is really bad give chase with the bottle.

he will calm down, get him the chop and chiped when u can and let him outside.

also cats sleep anywere its what they do best, put his bed were he likes to sleep best(on the table it seems) then after a few days of him sleeping in the bed move it to were u want him to sleep.

My 15 week old kitten does exaclty the same, I'm sat here with a scratch down the side of my nose at the mo as the other night she decided sniff my head then bat me across the face, but left her claws out:D

Actually found out last weekend why they do that. It's similar to big cats, they hold on to prey with their front paws and then bite the windpipe, and with their back legs they try to disembowl it:eek:

Last night she was sat on my computer chair and decided to jump and catch the wood bit at the bottom of the drawing string on my blinds, but she misjudged it and jumped headfirst into the wall:D

Agreed. Water bottle squirter if you can't bring yourself to give him a little tap on the backside every time he does something bad. He will calm down after the old nutcracker dance, but I'm not totally convinced he will stop all of his naughty behaviour. My other half's cat is male, and still knocks my cat about all over the shop when he feels like it. Granted she baits him, hisses a good 'un and normally reciprocates by returning a swipe but hey.

If he's really bad you can get some calming tablets (cat equivalent of St John's Wort I guess) from the vet. The other thing I've heard that might work is Rescue Remedy on the food.

Can only echo what everybody else is saying - sounds like a normal kitty to me :) Lots of people think the biting and scratching when you try to pet them is "bad behavior", but it's just them play fighting. They shouldn't bite hard enough to break the skin - I actually let our younger cat have a good 'ol gnaw on my hand if he likes. Claws can be a problem, but please don't get the poor thing de-clawed!

Our younger cat is a Maine **** - pretty much the biggest breed of domestic cat. He has claws like a Velociraptor and teeth like a Great White. He has a habit of jumping up onto my shoulders when I least expect it and then head-butting me. Trouble is, if he can't quite make it in one go he'll just start at my backside and claw his way up  He also does the drooling thing when he's really happy. Oh, and if he wants me to move in the bed but I'm asleep, he'll stick his tongue down my ear while purring really loudly :D

Can't believe people spray water at and smack their own cats, lol  Cats are cats... they can't be trained! They're just being kittens and will calm down and become lazy furry cushions in a few years. Enjoy them whilst they're still playful.

Beg to differ, mine is a little angel compared to my other half's demon spawn. As my Dad would say in situations like this "never did you any harm that slipper" :D (I didn't beat my cat btw!)

Seriously though, mine was a terror until the water spray then she calmed down loads. Then she came of age and started coming on heat, now THAT was funny. Say her name, chin hits floor, butt in the air - NO KITTY THAT'S A BAD KITTY!

The Felliway stuff Justin linked to is great - it will help turn your cat into a stoner. Our cat used to be very territorial and a bit paranoid and would spray all over the place... feliway calmed him down massively and now he's just a bit of a mentaler but doesn't spray on anything (except carrier bags for some reason).
