Problem copying files to USB stick.

Afternoon,

I have just purchased a nice new Acer Aspire 5755G laptop.

I am having problems copying large files to my SanDisc 16GB USB stick. I have tried the stick in all USB ports but the same problem occurs. I am trying to copy a 6GB file onto the stick but it locks up about quater of the way through and causes the laptop to slow down. If i try clicking cancel, it just comes up saying "cancelling" and sits there forever until i pull the stick out of the laptop.

Please help.

You need to format the stick to have an NTFS file system, and not FAT/FAT32, which is limited to 4gb ish filesize.

You'd get an error about the destination file source not supporting the file size when you tried to copy it if that was the problem.

Thanks for moving to correct section, I really didn't know where to start this thread.

The stick is formatted to NTFS.

I get no error messages, the copying process just hangs.

Does the USB stick function ok on another pc?

Yeah the stick works in other computers.
