Problem creating XBL Account

I got myself a 360 Wireless Adapter today (for £35 might I add

) and I'm trying to create myself a Live account.

I'm doing on the 360 as i'm led to believe you get a months free Gold doing it this way. So I connect it up to my wireless router, put the WEP key in and test - everything A-ok. The 'NAT' says 'MODERATE' at this point. I try to create an account and after inputting the Windows Live ID credentials in after about a minute or so it says 'Xbox live signup is currently unavailable. Please try later'. Does that a few times.

I amend my router settings so that now the 360 is in a DMZ and when I test the 'NAT' says 'OPEN'. Result, so I try again and it stops at the same point

So do you reckon it's a problem with my adapter or Live account creation is fubar'd for the time being?

Well hotmail was down for retreiving email until just now and that's linked to live accounts too, so it might be working now. Try again.

Create your Live ID first then put that into the xbox

This is from www.xbox.com in the support section. I had this problem when i got my console, had to wait until it was fixed before i could get my account made, free month and start playing.

Phew, cheers for that! At least I know my Xbox is ok!!

Just have to wait for them to fix it I guess

Won't let me download any demos at the moment.
My Brother is havijng trouble downloading some oblivion DLC as well and he's in a different county.

BT Total Broadband have just started giving Xbox360 wireless adapters away with every new subscription of £10 a month or more.

Possibly a sign that MS are ready to drop the retail price.

Yeah - It's fine now. I just bought a 12 month Gold subscription as well - Can't wait to get Geometary Wars & Worms downloaded!!!
