Problem installing BF2SF

I recently bought the BF2 complete collection but when trying to run the game, windows just says that it's encountered a problem and needs to close. I have been playing vanilla BF2 V1.41 without any problems at all and from my own findings, it's when I install the expansion and booster packs that the exe stops working.

Solutions?

EDIT: I installed BF2 from my original BF2 disk and manually updated to 1.41 and the plays without problems. If I install vanilla BF2 from the collectors edition disk and then let that patch it, the game won't start.

Seems that I've fixed it myself. I'd made an ISO of the disk because it was faster than installing off the drive so I decided to try installing from the DVD drive and it works. Strange....

Glad your sorted .... just a little confussed though where you trying to install BF2 SF the addon pack ? If so the SF pack will patch the BF2 game to patch 1.3 .... the best way to install is first BF2 then BF2 SF then patch to 1.41 ... if you add on any of the others rem. to install 1.41 patch each time.
