Problem installing Rage from DVD

Today I got Rage on DVD, however I'm having problems installing it.

I install it as normal and register the key to steam and what not, it goes through all the DVD's seemingly installing, but then after Disc 3, Steam says only 7% is installed and is currently downloading 20GB of data !!

Anyone know a fix?

I tried this but no luck

There's a workaround for this in the FAQ in my sig.

It might be similar to the one you've linked though. Don't forget to delete all the game conts before you try to reinstall.

Run Steam in offline mode?

THe solution in the sig is indeed the same one I posted, it just gives the same result after install.

And Steam doesn't allow you to install games in offline mode

Since you've already bought the game man I wouldn't feel too bad about using a "custom" installer
