Hi, i have had to format my other pc and reinstall windows xp media centre which has gone ok apart from i cant get any sound, first the device manager lists a pci device which needs installing which when i search in the audio section of the drivers for this board it finds nothing, apparently my sound card is HD and needs a microsoft fix which is on the cd which is KB835221.

After installing that, it then tells me it wants to install a C-Media High Definition Audio Device, if i search again for the river it still finds ntohing, when i run the setup icon from the audio driver folder it says installing C-Media High Definition Audio Device then it wait for a few secs then says this device isnt present, i know it is as the audio was working fine before i formated :(

Does anyone know anything about this board or how i can get my sound working again please that would be much appreciated.

thanks

James

can anyoine help at all, all is i have is a dialog box saying that it has found a audio device on the high definition audio bus, but none of my drivers seem to be installing it :(

I have similar problem on the same motherboard. Have you solved it?

Try a different pci slot? or reseat it? Try it in another PC to ensure that the sound card is not the fault.

I had an MSI board once and needed to set two jumpers across the FP audio pins in order for the onboard sound to work at the rear sockets. Maybe something similar is happening to you?
