hi all i have just bought a new mobo listed in my sig, when i try and install vista it takes forever to install roughly 45 mins to 1 hour something is defitnety wrong as my old foxconn mobo installed vista quick with no issues and i have the same hardware only different ram. is there a common problem when installing vista on this mobo does it make any difference that all my memory slots are filled im sure i read somewhere that the asus p5n-e sli dosent like its memory slots all filled

Vista installed perfectly on mine with 4 sticks, that was over a year ago now. Run memtest to see if your memory is error-free. No reason also why you can't install Vista with 2 sticks and then after that put the extra 2 in.

Yeah tis true, when I used my P5N-E SLI, it didnt boot sometimes and would just hang at not doing anything, soon as you remove a stick its ok.

I didnt look into it much cause I changed to a matx board when i changed my system, maybe it was the voltages to the memory im not sure, maybe adding +0.1v will help ? to help with the 4 sticks..
