problem installing windows vista

cone to install all good then it pops up with the message that i have to upgrade
my IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers: Standard IDE/ESDI Hard Disk Controller

now i have just recently updated my bios on my gigabyte-p35-ds3p how else do i go about updating it so it can install properly?

Check to see if achi mode is enabled in the bios, if it is try setting it to ide mode instead.
