Hi all

I'm currently trying to repair a fairly old Shuttle PC. Currently the Shuttle will not even pick up the new SATA drive in the BIOS, and have since picked up some RAID drivers to use on the "f6" function on the windows setup but this doest seem to bring up the driver installer screen now???

Any ideas guys?

Cheers

USB keyboard? Try a PS/2 keyboard or converter and see what happens as I have seen several systems that wont recognise a USB keyboard at that point during XP even when it'll work fine to get into the BIOS and edit settings.

Doesn't the motherboard have a SATA legacy support switch in the BIOS? If not, I'd probably go with nLite to put the drivers on the Windows disc.

Yes it is a USB keyboard but seems to work throughout the installation and the BIOS but its just the F6 fuction that doesnt seem to work...

Ill try nlite, ive never heard or used it before...

Thanks guys

Hi, I' just going thru the same thing with Xp. Do you get the message about no mass storage devices were found?
When you press F6 it does'nt do anything straight away. It seems to load many drivers first then asks if you want to install scsi or other drivers that are not on the XP install disc.
I do this but am getting varied 'corrupt' messages so I may have genuine corruptions on my CD or Floppy (yes Floppy) or I possibly have a mobo etc prob. Not trying to hi jack this thread, but will observe for any response.
I think I'll search the net for diagnostics that I can load from floppy for memory tests etc.
