Using my old DFI SLI-d to build a stop gap rig while my new DFI Expert is RMA'd back to DFI.

First problem: When I put a new HD disk in, SATA 250 mb, windows install asks if you want to create a new partion however, it sees only 131mb to format? Where has the other 120mb gone? Not formated at this stage.

Second problem: I have used my new graphics card in this install a, HIS ATI Radeon X1900 XT ICEQ 3 SILENT Heatpipe 512MB GDDR3 AVIVO TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express).. However, I can only use one of the connectors, the one furthest from the mobo when using the card. If I try and use the connector nearest the mobo I get, one red led on, signifying that the graphics card is not detected by the mobo? Is this normal, first time I have used ATI in a few years.

Very common issue, Windows alone can only detect drives up to 127 GB, you need to have service pack 1. Can always just add the rest as another partition with disk manager later once you've upgraded.
