Problem starting F@H

Hi there, couldnt find an appropriate thread to post this problem in so created a new one.

Just set up F@H, configured it for dual core etc. Upon restarting it has started the 2 services (one for each core) and all is well.

However.

When i open up FAHmon, i add the 2 clients and they both appear, but the box on the left is yellow and nothing actually happens, no eta or anything.
When i added the clients, i just clicked on the folder they were in, should i have clicked on the 'work' folder instead?

Any help much appreciated.

No, you've set it up right. It just takes time to gather enough information from the clients so that it can give you an accurate eta.

Ah right, thanks very much. Looking forward to getting started proper, should have set it up a while ago really- didnt realise how easy it was to do.

Note - Has just got to 1% on both clients.

edit: Since you're new to the project you might want to see what the proteins you're working on look like - when in FahMon if you highlight one of the clients and press F3 it will take you to the Jmol page for that project where you can spin the protein round and zoom in and out (click and drag for spin, mouse-wheel for zoom)

You could also run the SMP client on that C2D. More pointage

Although it is a little more work - the WinSMP client can be finnicky - although is much better as of late.

If you want to try your hand at Linux and run the Linux SMP client - see my guide here: http://smp.aeternum.co.uk

The guide has instructions on installing Linux either natively [as a "main" OS] or via VMWare [runs inside Windows - in case you're too scared to run Linux all by itself
