Hi guys,

having a problem with one of my old PC's.

when starting up it gets stuck on the first screen, all that seems to be visible is a message saying "checking NVRAM. . " - seems to hold up here. never seen this before, can anybody shed any light?

i havnt tried anything to solving it yet, knowing me ill make it worse :p

i suspect it could have something to do with the graphics card? not sure i could be wrong!

how do i get to the bios from here?
it doesnt get far enough in the boot up sequence! lol

If you can try a different graphics card to see if you can get to the BIOS. As it will be running in VGA mode and not getting to windows you won't need to worry about having the wrong drivers on there.

PK!

dont have any spares unfortunatly!, ah so annoying! lol
should i buy a cheap one maybe? to be fair i reckon mine needs repalcing soon anyway!

I would suggest you clear the CMos in the motherboard first mate - just take the battery off for 30 mins, then replace and try booting again.

Often works a treat!

Wunz.
