Problem winth Windows instalation.

I didn't try memtest 86, due to the reason that the memory I tried was brand new and out of the box. However I will run memtest just to check.

sounds to me like an interface problem as its tripping over reading numerous files from then disk.

it could even be the IDE interface on the motherboard if its not a memory problem.

can you borrow a USB cd drive or similar to rule out the IDE interface alltogether ?
