Recently purchased https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FS-005-OC and can't seem to get it to behave...

Initially ordered it in mid-March, it came promptly and worked perfectly out of the box. For 2-3 days I hammered it with all manner of games + work and it performed beautifully.

Then it all came crashing to a halt, I got a BSOD during one Crysis frag-fest, and shrugged it off, jumped on WoW and got BSOD's every 5-10 minutes. Decided I'd get some work done and got a BSOD while staring at a simple spreadsheet. Called OC the next day (at 5:25pm, just off work) and their service was great, they'd picked up the PC at 1pm the next day and shipped it back to me two days after that, citing bad memory as the issue. They were also kind enough to update all drivers and update vista to SP1 in-house to make sure there were no hiccups.

I've had it back for two days now, didn't do much on it, thought I'd take it easy, only installed WoW and had a play around, was fine for the first day, but now I'm getting infrequent, random BSOD's, all while playing. crash dump indicates that it's possibly an issue with "ntoskrnl.exe ( nt+55390 )". Afraid I couldn't read the exact error on the BSOD, they disappeared too fast and I hadn't disabled automatic restarts.

Any ideas before I give OC another call and they possibly ask that it be shipped back again?

Just about to run memtest86, to see if that turns up anything...will edit once done.

Thanks in advance!

EDIT: sigh, memtest brought up juuust over 1000 errors before I stopped it, does it ever lie? that's a hell of a lot of errors o_0 Guess I'll be giving Oc another call shortly

When in memtest, make sure its on standard test...I think the options are - Press C, then 3, then 1...I think. It would say Bios std on the screen.

Try the ram sticks individually as well, that would show if there is just one stick that's at fault or not. What ram sticks are they out of curiosity?

Crucial 2GB Ballistix Tracer PC2-8500 CAS5 (2x1GB) Dual Channel Kit (Overclocked at 1000MHz+) as quoted from the product description, i'll pop another memtest through testing individually and to assure it's on standard test, will get back with results.

wierdest damn thing, tested them individually and came back fine, put them both in and re-tested and not a single error, guess they just weren't seated properly. happy ending for now, hopefully no more bsod's :x

Nice one, see how they go :)

Might be worth leaving memtest on over night or something whne you getthe chance...? Or just play and see what happens, up to you. Good going though
