For reference my build is:

  • Intel Core i5 760 2.80GHz (Lynnfield) (Socket LGA1156) - Retail
  • Asus P7P55D-E Intel P55 (Socket 1156) DDR3 Motherboard
  • Patriot Viper 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C7 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (PVS34G1600LLK)
  • Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Rev 2 CPU Cooler (Socket 939 AM2 AM3 775 1156 1366)
  • Corsair TX 650W ATX SLi Compliant Power Supply (CMPSU-650TXUK)
  • Asus GeForce GTS450 DirectCU 1GB

The rest of the build is working perfectly fine, but I've had to resort to using an old graphics card. Whenever I install the official nVidia drivers for the card my monitor stops recieving signal once windows boots.

I've tried the card in 3 different systems and the same results each time. Is the card faulty of am I overlooking something?

Thanks for any help.

How many different versions of drivers have you used?

What Monitor do you have?

Edit: If you have tried the card in 3 different systems something does sound very wrong with the card, when you tried the card with 3 other systems did you use 3 different monitors with 3 different DVI leads or the same monitor and DVI lead ?

I've been using the same monitor each time, though I did test all of its outputs (DVI, HDMI & VGA). And yup the 6-pin power lead is in. I shall try the 1080p tv in the living room and see if I get the same results.
