turns on and then off again

hi all this was my spec

intle core duo e8400 cpu (3GHz)
3gb ram Crucial Ballistix Tracer DDR2
4870x2
windows 7 ultimate
abit ip35 pro (m/b)
zalman zm500-hp

it was working ok and the other day it would not turn on at all/no power getting to it. i changed the fuse in the power supply plug and it tripped the house fuse box.

im gussing the graphics card was just to much for the power supply.

i have now got a ocz zs 750 power supply.

I have lights on the mb, but all i get now is the fans start up and after about 1/2 seconds turn off.

i have tried it with another graphics card/no graphics card. with and with out ram, but it is still the same.

there are no beeping sounds, the only noise is from the fans.

any help would be greatfull.

many thanks
ian

i won a m/b on a auction site last night, so when that comes ill give it ago. fingers crossed it will fix it.

do you think my old power supply was just not powerfull enough for the graphics card and burned its self out?

small update.

i changed the mb over, but it is still the same.

do you think it is the processor? if so, what would you recomend please. stay the same as what i have (e8400) or is there something better?

any other adivce is much welcome

thanks
ian

have got a new power supply. a ocz zs 750, tried another stick of ram, some small leds light up on the bottom, but the main ones do not light up. when there is no ram installed, there are no beeping sounds etc

yes its the same.

from when it stoped working the other day (no power) i have replaced the power supply, motherboard, and different ram. so at a guess it is only the processor left.

i changed from my old graphics card (8800gtx) to the 4870x2 to get the game i am playing better.

and all of this is because of one game where playing it bugged me as everything was on low, and if i tried to increase things the fps were just to slow. and the game is..... BF3!!

tbh i have never overclocked a computer before and have no idea where to start. so would like something where i would not need to do so, unless it is easy?

i have got another processor on its way to me, going down the rout of a new build was just to much ££

have got a q6600 with a bigger cooler fan than standard, so fingers crossed this will sort things out

I have put the new processor in but it is still the same.

So far I have changed the power supply, mobo, ram and processor.
And tried a different graphics card.
I cleared the cosmos as well.

What can I try next please.

Symptoms are. When I turn comp on, it starts up for a few seconds and then goes off. it carries on doing this.

Thanks
Ian.

On the abit ip35 pro mobo. it has code 9.0 on the display. I have tried what it said with no luck.
