Problem with defrag (O&O)

I've just installed O&O degrag software and its showing my windows partition as 25% fragmented. Which makes sense as I have a system monitered page-file on it. So I disable the page-file and restart. I then go on to defrag the drive but I can't get it to defrag the old page-file sector. I tried every degrag type and it just moved the old page-file sectors around. I have even tried the windows defrag tool with no luck :/

Could anyone shed any light on this?

You'll probably need to do an offline defrag before it'll touch the page file.

How would I go about doing that? Do other defrag tools (such as diskeeper) do this as default & Should this fix the problem?

Don't know off the top of my head how to do it offline - it's in the help though.

Hi,
if i can remember correctly,you need to schedule an offline defrag job of the drive in question,then the next time you reboot your pc the defrag job kicks in as part of the boot process before windows has loaded.

i reckon it's system restore taking up the space

disable system restore and try again.
