Problem with drivers

I am having a problem with 260.99 nvidia drivers. I have a Palit GTS 250 1GB and run W7 x64.

I removed all the old drivers and nvidia components in safe mode using Driver Sweeper. Rebooted, ran/installed the new drivers (as admininstrator). I rebooted once installed but Windows wouldn't load, basically hung on start up.

Tried it again having restored and just removed the graphics drivers and left Physx and chipset drivers. This crashed/froze the system.

Am I doing something wrong?

Help greatly appreciated. Cheers.

Driver Sweeper

There is part of, possibly all your problem.

I personally don't use or recommend it as it's known for deleting files that make it near impossible to install a new set of drivers properly and can in some cases require a total reinstall of the os.

Your best bet is to restore to a previously working config (you've done this but you could try an earlier one) or do a windows repair from disk and then use the 'clean install' option when installing the drivers.
