Problem with DVD Drive

Right now made 3 coasters as i was backing up my hard drive on to some dual layer dvd's and just now tried to rip a dvd and all the errors are the same, I/O device error, now there isn't any firmware update for my drive and already on latest, apart from burning and ripping, drive works fine, so any guesses anyone?

I use Ashampoo burning software with verbatim DL Discs and ye I did set Ashampoo to burn at 2.4, still failed,

ah dammit, do also use imgburn but same error, stoopid drive, thx anyways dude
