Hi,

I've just bought a second hand Palit GTX680 Jetstream which seems to have a weird fault. If I plug it into the top DVI port then i get red pixels/graphics botches everywhere like these links below:

You can actually see the red pixels shifting from left to right quite rapidly. Just looks completely knackered.

But if i put it in the lower DVI port (on the graphics card) then it functions absolutely fine and has no issues. Is this a common/known fault?

I'm mainly concerned that while the card is now great...it may hugely affect its resale value down the line as I'd of course have to bring this up.

I plugged it in the top DVI initially and thought the card was knackered at first! It was only when i tried it in my GF's pc that i twigged as I coincidently plugged it into the lower DVI port on that and it was totally fine, then back to mine and knackered again, then in the lower DVI port in mine and back to being completely fine. I've just run some benchmarks now and the card is clearly fine from a performance POV and is displaying no issues as long as it remains in the lower DVI port of the two on the card.

Has anyone seen or heard of this before ? any help appreciated!

Palit GTX 680 Jetstream - Connectivity:

1 x DisplayPort
1 x Dual Link DVI-D
1 x Dual Link DVI-I
1 x HDMI

Its starting to dawn on me that my own lack of knowledge had been at fault here! I guess you are supposed to plug it into the lower one! :o

Thank you gregster :D

I just searched your card and it had 2*DL-DVI, so ignore me :(

It does seem like a faulty port, as if it works in one, it should work in the other.

Hi, yep damn i was just about to say.

I just dug up a picture and its clearly both 2 x DVI-I :( , so i guess its a faulty port :(

As i say the graphics card is fantastic but just concerned if anyone down the line might care when I have to mention it when selling.

Thank you again for your help gregster :)

No probs and shame because they are nice cards. I wouldn't be happy, just in case you need multi monitors or future resale values.
