Problem with internet connection

Wondering if anyone can help as i have a strange problem with my internet connection.

I use win 7 and firefox and my ISPP is talktalk and mse av, ad aware, spybot.

The problem is this:

I can connect to WOW for example but cant connect to the news page on the launcer.

I can connect to city of heroes but not the news page on their launcher.

I can update my curse client wow addons but the client wont connect.

I can connect to steam but all of the live pages like the store say unable to connect to server.

Rainmeter functions like live newsfeeds dont connect.

I cannot upload images to photobucket, imageshack etc but i can download from them.

This all happened after I used spybot to remove some malware that brings up those spurious you have a virus download our av pop ups.

I've checked win firewall and all those programs are allowed.

Any one got any advice?
