I have 3 partions on one disk, lets say X,Y,Z.
X&Y I have installed XP on & Z has Windows 7 on. Using Easybcd I have had them working OK. The XP on Y became corrupt so installed back-up & all boot OK. but if I boot into Y, X is still the C: drive & Y is H:. As you can imagine this causes problems with programs looking in C: when the files are actually in H:
Is there any way I can set so that the partition I am in always becomes the C:
Hope thats clear.

I've seen this before, it's because the installer picked up the drive letter from, one of the other disks, and decided you wanted it to be C: in this install too (stupid).

You can't change it without reinstalling again, I might recommend you copy the other partitions to another drives then back after the install? Might be another way to do it tho.

Thanks.
Seems strange that I have restored a back-up several times before but now after 4 attempts it still won't work. I have even restored from a different partition before and just altered the boot.ini and away it goes.
This only seems to have come about since installing Windows 7.
Perhaps I could try hiding the other two partitions and then re-install.

Got there in the end. Tried hiding partitions, that didn't work. In the end I formatted the partition, removed the drive letter, and restored an image I had saved with DriveImage XML which let me assign a drive letter and it all worked.
