Yet again there is a problem with my A4 :( (who said Audi's are reliable?) - I am looking for a bit of advice on what it could be, to me it sounds like the engine is loose in its mounts - but anyway the story goes like this:

When coming to a stop my engine sounds like it is under strain, when stopped it keeps making this sound till the car rocks backwards (if I am on a downward slant it will just keep on making this noise) - The car is fine when in motion, this only happens when I am slowing/stopped.

What could it be? :(

Cheers,

Craig

:)

It happens every time I slow down (starts at about 10mph)

The car is a 1998 Audi A4 1.9 TDi SE

silly question but is everything ok ie fluid levels?

i'm not quite sure what you mean byit sounds like its under strain.

any judder through the pedals at all?

It was serviced 2k miles ago and all the fluids checked by a garage last month (I will check them myself today though)

There is a bit of a judder through my gear stick and pedals, although there is always a slight judder through my gear stick it has become more harsh since this problem started
