Problem with my gf's Fiesta , any idea?

Yes its a fiesta , but still thought i'd ask here... On cruising its fine but any light touch of the peddle or general acceleration and the car just bucks , like its kangarooing. You can drive it but its very unstable :eek:
 
like no acceleration then lots? kinda like you are holding the brake down while accelerating?

Change the coil/spark plugs id say. fixed my problems (fiesta Mk6, 2003)
 
My cousins does exactly the same, she has had it serviced, but still does it. It's funny to watch though, seeing her trying to pull away giving it the gas, then suddenly the power cuts back in! Quite annoying though I can imagine.
 
Could be all number of things to do with fueling/electronics. Cheapest fix would be to start with spark plugs and HT leads and see if that improves things.
 
check ends of vacuum pipes for splits and air leaks on the air inlet

is this always from cold ( ie. on choke ), or also when engine hot ? might be bad water temperature sensor , or stuck stat
 
Just a bit off topic, but my old Yamaha PW80 did this, and even after being serviced etc it still did it :(
