Have been on Wanadoo for about 2 years and earlier this year it was changed to Orange. Have been using a usb speedtouch modem with no problems.
When I heard about the free BB offer I got a new mobile contract with Orange and got switched over to their free broadband with a Livebox to come in the post.
For some reason my speed got downgraded from 1Mbps to 512k at the same time.
I pointed this out to Orange and they re-graded me back to 1Mbps - which would take a few days. The next day my Livebox came in the post I went thru the set up procedure and it didn't work - the Admin info screen says Link Down.
Contacted Orange who said it was because the line was being re-graded for me and when I got back to 1Mbps it would let the Livebox work.
Few days later the speed went back up to 1Mbps and I tried the Livebox again, no luck - got back in touch with Orange and they said they'd run a line test. Went on my hols came back tried the Livebox again still not working. Got in touch with Orange again, they said the line test had come back fine and they asked me to go to ADSLGuide and do a speed test while I was on the line to them. Did the test and it came back as just shy of 1Mbps. They said it must be a fault with the Livebox and would send me a new one.
Got new box today and guess what - still not working.
Can anyone please help me figure out why on earth it won't work when my Speedtouch modem connects me to the net just fine. Please - I'm tearing my hair out, and there isn't that much left to tear...
