I was just booting up too create a Raid disc when i got this error

*CPU Fan Error*

I have a Sythe Ninja connected too this board (so i don't really need the fan i only connected the fan for when i Overclock).

Now looking at the CPU Fan connector i see 4 pins but the Sythe fan only as 3. I took the side off too see if the fan was moving and it's not.

Also what i need too know is can i install windows onto a SATA drive without the F6 method? I don't want to run any of the drives in a Raid Array.

Thanks for all the help... ;)

So have you got the fan plugged in or not?

If you have no fan attached motherboards can sometimes get upset and assume the noob who assembled the PC just forgot to attach a fan. The should be an option to disable the alarm in BIOS.

The 4th pin is probably for PWM - pulse width modulation, which is a fancy way of controlling the speed of a fan. Your 3 pin fan is perfectly fine with that type of header.

use a 3 to 4 pin connector then plug into a psu molex addapter and try see if it works then, thats my suggestion =]

Try another fan on the connector, if it works, then the sythe fan is likely to be the problem. If it doesn't work, then the mobo connector is likely to be the problem.

I recently installed xp on a raptor attached to a p5b deluxe without using the floppy drivers, so no, you won't need to use the f6 method.

Thats good news then...I was just reading the User guide manual on Ressetting disc to non-Raid...Will i have too set all the disc if i don't want them in Raid?

TBH mate, I'm not sure. I would imagine you'd have to, but my knowledge on raid is 0 (pardon the pun).

Hopefully someone else can confirm it for you.
