problem with new build

hey guys im hopping you can help me abit

just put my new build together today

i5 ivy bride

msi gd 65

xfx 850 w power supply

4 gb of g skill ram (from old pc)

ssd 60gb


the problem is im trying to use my gfx card from my old build till i get enouth for a new gfxcard

but when i trying to boot with the gfx card in place the computer will not boot at all not even attempt to all it does is click then wont turn on mother board dosent even power up

now my old pc had a very very very cheap no name psu in it that went bang could this have fried the GFX card

or could i have bugged something else up on the install ?

the computer is all up and running off of the i5 onboard gfx and boots with no problems or error msgs

but as soon as i connect the gfx card it wont even power up the mobo

any help much appreciated

edit the ram was also in the old computer when the psu went bang

that would be ideal i know but no i dont im afraid could a gfx card problem stop the computer booting ?

and could that psu blow up ruin the gfx card ?
 
na the on board works fine im on it right now ive just ordered a 670 should be here tomoz on sat delivery so ill update the thread then i have updated the bios so i think thats all good
